Fame at Last Ever tried to squeeze a film crew and celebrity presenter into a very small chocolate-making room? Possibly not. But that was the challenge facing the Ryeburn of Helmsley team when the BBC turned up to film there in September. The visit was a result of the Castle in the Country series, currently airing on BBC 2 (weekdays, 3pm). The second series of the hit magazine show is being filmed at Castle Howard, just a few miles across the Howardian Hills from Helmsley. The production team chose Ryeburn after admiring the chocolates on offer in the new Castle Howard Chocolate Shop. When they found out they were made just a stone's throw away, they sent presenter Nikki Chapman (of Pop Idol fame) to Ryeburn's HQ to find out more. Nikki interviewed Ryeburn production manager David Otterburn and chocolatier Andrew Feather and even had a try at making chocolates herself. With the chocolate firmly back in the hands of the experts, Andrew sent Nikki back to Castle Howard with some Ryeburn of Helmsley truffles, which were used by series chef James Martin to create a sinfully delicious dish. By the way, if you're a top Hollywood agent, trying to lure David and Andrew into a professional life in front of the cameras, we have to tell you, they're not interested. Making a short film with the BBC was fun but they're too committed to chocolate and ice cream to take it up full time. |
